Back from YDC camp '08!

And i miss the camp and people already.

it has been quite a new and refreshing experience, as it was my first camp at Youth Donor Club. And i was amazed to realise that almost 95+ percent people were there cause they were blood donors. Frankly speaking, i am afraid of needles, and because of frequent giddy spells, i have not donated my blood once.

it has really been rewarding to learn more about 100% vnrbd, and the different blood donating situations in diff. countries, namely- hongkong, vietnam, pakistan, laos, thailand, phillipines, myanmar, including singapore.

and i love the foreign deligates, as they were all so enthusiastic and receptive, and very eloquent! plus they totally immersed themselves in the camp spirit, despite we were doing some ridiculous skits or songs and cheers.

kay, i shall blog about the camp in detail, least i forget in the future...

i think the camp was cool!
everyone in my group [D^3] was older; it made me feel young during the self-intro!
i shall list down my team mates, as i absolutely love everyone of them, and i miss them already!

hahaha, what am i doing?

Day 1

haha, we had to meet at bedok control station. but when i reached there, i stoned, cause i didn't know the people going there are mostly older. then syida has this ring at her lip, and jolene had yet to reach, haha, i just stoned there with my bagpacks.

i could only remember harmony going on and on and on during the get-to-know-ur-grp session... then i got my hello kitty bunk, with jolene above me.
Day 2

Sentosa!

and it was the games, songs, cheers and Amazing Race!
haha, our group had this ding dong cheer, and it was really good (to me), and hilarious!
there were 5 stations, and missions to complete.
sherade was pretty fun when we had to write down answers using lipstick on our body.
then there was the pass e pingpong with ur spoon in e mouth game.
and the performace station, hee! we did acapella, with harmony as the vocal, the facils loved it!'
the canoeing was fun! at the last part it was pouring rather heavily, and i had to canoe back to start point. sheng jie was in front, he canoed furiously, and i was totally wet, not from the rain, but the sea water his paddle splashed all over me, but it was fun though!

Day 3

boring lecture day! we were stuck in the room for the entire day! it was so boring that people fell asleep, and there was an award at the end of the camp to the one who slept the most thruout, hahaha!!

then we had the cooking competition at night.
our group, zai as usual, served the food and drink first. we designed the food, and cutlery plates with flowers, then had harmony to sing while they dined, haha, it was so cheesy but funny as well, and guess what? we won the prize!

Day 4

Trip to bloodbank, and drive!
Oh and i remembered D^3 getting up way earlier than other groups to complete our flag, amzing team spirit i've got to say, haha! zi kua!

there was bbq at night, then the campfire!
and skits, cheers, list goes on...

we forsaked bbq to practise our skit, but it was worth it though cause we had so much fun practising together... after the campfire, there was still lots of food left, so we started bbqing till 1 or 2 am...

then it was the ghoststories telling time, after we bathed at 3 am in the morning! man, the wind was chilly!
haha, a few of us decided it was too eerie, so we had this jokes telling thingie, until 5 am!
then we were dead tired and slept for 2 hours...

Day 5

time to conclude the camp and for awards and certificates!
our group undoubtedly most zai (hahahaha!) won three awards, and many individual awards...
plus inside secret from grp leader, that our grp should have won more, but they had to be politically fair or sth... ( haha, i am flying already...)

the video and photos were cute!
then there were the red posters for us to sign for one another...
and lunch...

it was hard to say goodbye, really! and the foreigners were super sweet!

then i revealed to raymond (hongkong deligate) for secret sock pal, and he was so cute, saying he received every of my message, n he replied and stuffs... aww

at the bus, finally shengjie revealed he was my sock pal, which i already knew when he first picked my name; he was laughing uncontrollably lah then, and he said thank you so sincerely and stuffs, so nice...

wah, its 2.30 am already, and i am super tired from the camp, dunno what i blogging already...

But i love YDC' 08! maybe next year i'll volunteer to be a leader, heh!

AGNES go europe liao ah? so SHUANG

been back from m'sia on saturday, and it hasn't been a week and i'm going m'sia again tmr...
but tmr's trip is different! i wasn't pre-informed.
They called me in taiwan back then and asked me for my passport number. Then whether i'm free for these days. I was thinking about the ex. phone bills so i hurried thru the call and told them details they neeeded.
When i came back, they told me they signed me up for their company trip to some organic place. WAA ~_~

i'm expecting all the uncles and aunties tmr. worse i dunno any of them, maybe one called mui chuan aunty. maybe i shall drown myself in books and music tmr.
WAA~_~

anyway, i can't believe i came back on saturday on m'sia just to attend standard chartered.
there have been gains and losses, well...

happy because i met ching and yujia for midnight movie, caught up on dbsk with ching...
its great to see friends during hols again, other than closer ones and participate as volunteers together...
quite a lot of 帅哥 on that day who are usually absent in broad daylight (i am not hua chi)
its great to be hurrying and really putting in effort (lots of), at the drinks station, whether getting blisters from unscrewing caps, or wet pants from all the fast and furious actions
and unexpected 收获 after scrutinizing at heads and faces. 皇天不负苦心人. issit used like that?

unhappy because i missed my new cousin's first birthday, it was just on the nxt day...
i came back in the evening, and there wasn't time for sleep at all, i was dead tired by 9 the next day...
i dirtied my adidas std chrt shirt from being over enthu and carrying boxes here and there.
poor agnes hurrying thru the hours for nth.

anyway, i found a new love

Taiwan Trip and embRACE 2008 have been a blast.

All i can say is that i will seriously miss the other 7 who went TW with me, and all the kids and facils of embRACE.

embRACE is so good, and so fruitful that i can say there has hardly been any losses, but just many many expeiences and gains.

Made many friends there =

Ty to Liting who's always been there to help manage the kids with me.

Will miss travelling home with Agnes, YunXiu, Jeff, GraceHo, Samson, Rodion, Kawai after having formed a routine to travel home like that for 5 days all the way from clementi to pasir ris.

Will miss Grp C, kids and facils alike.

Will miss some of the slow reactions and the long debrief session on the first day of camp. (hahaha, simin u'll get it)

Will miss making sugee, tangyuan and not ondeh ondeh.

Will miss the games and fun, and how everyone peeps at vincent ng and his hair.

TAIWAN

has been so good. n its really a great thing to travel alone with ur friends to tw.

seriously miss the nights at the hostel. the cramped spaces filled with beds, luggages and yujia's belongings around. the cramped toilets. the nights of cards, maggi mee, jigsaw puzzle, snorings, 夜市, the food, the games!...

will seriously miss the ten dollars (fifty cents singdollars) basketball machines. where i trained till i reached the last level and get 473 points finally.

will miss travelling around, finding food, going to many diff places. Shopping and bargaining for prices. Will miss yichen's jiumas and doggie pi pi. will miss wandering around places and JJ lin. will miss the food there especially. Aww.

Most importantly, i will miss everyone there

miss having fun, goofing around, looking out for one another, games together, fun, shopping, food, exploring, and the hostel nights together=)
